Alpine 9856 and Clipping

I have installed an Alpine 9856 and am getting ready to set the gains on the amps, but am unsure of what the volume should be set to.

I have heard two different figures, one says the Alpines start to clip @ 29 volume and another says the Alpine HU start to clip @ 25volume.

What should I turn it up to, and I am using a DMM to set gains.

i say turn it up to the loudest setting you normally listen to.

i'd say 27ish/35, which is true for most decks. but as said above you want to set gains at highest level you listen at (for me 27)

What I do is turn the head unit up 3/4 of the way and adjust the gains there.
