i was wondering if the Alpine KCA-420i is compatible with my Alpine CDA-9835. Can anyone verify for me please?

Yeah. It won't come up as ipod, but as CD changer, but all the functions still work.

because the kca-420i came out after that series of cd players they didnt have the ipod functionality built in. that is origionally why there was an adapter box so it could read as a cd changer on decks... the 2005 models were "ipod ready" in the sense that a cd changer would be seperate hardware... plus they didnt build it into their decks until they knew that it was gonna take off....
