alpine 9835 vs pioneer p880

hi dears

my new decision! im considering 1000$ headunits;) who knows maybe waited for one of them:yumyum: my budget is 500$ now .. how much is the SQ difference between a 1000$ HU and 500$? for example: p880prs & P9 combo ?

please give me some recommendations .

thankful

Well, when I have a a 150+ daily setup... I really like the sub-out control one push away...

Indeed!

I may not have a 150+ setup, but I listen to a WIDE variety of music with my Ipod on shuffle. I like the bass over empasized on rap/hip hop and tone down and natural for most other types. I am constantly changing the level, so being 1 button away FTMFW!

Im sure you'll be able to customize the sound to your likeing with a 880prs. Spend the other $700 on some really nice components and amp. Maby even a really big sub and amp. Those options will have a bigger impact on your sound for the money you plan on spending.

If it's between the 880PRS and the P9 combo, there's absolutely no comparison there. Get the P9 DEX/DEQ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For the person who said that the noise in the 880PRS was a result of improper grounding, I'm trying to figure out what's more proper than a 10awg run direct to the battery...when Eclipses and lower level Pioneers have absolutely no problems under the same conditions. I'm not saying the 880 is a bad deck, I think it has some great features...trick is finding a good one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you make it sound like its a task to find a working p880prs. my good friend has one, all the guys at the shop run them, and alot of the cars i see at local meets all have 880's and i dont hear any noise. I used to own a p8mp that had the noise issue and it was not even a problem once you start listening to music. At very very low volume that little noise disappears.

i agree that the 9835 is a superior unit to the 55, but i dont mind my 9855 a bit... i love the thing. and like the last poster said the glide touch is actually kinda nice once you get used to it
