Yup.Depends on what you're comfortable with...
The 880 has some neat features that the '35 doesn't have, like AutoEQ/TA.
But the 9835 never had the quality control issues that plagued the 880.
It may be more trusted and reliable but that doesn't mean its a necessarily a better deck. Its been out longer so it has a more trusted history. Give the 880 a few years and then let's see how it is trusted. As far as internals are concerned that is a pretty bold statement to make unless you've actually sat down and tore them both apart. I'm not saying I disagree about it because most car audio equipment made 5 years ago was put together better than the stuff made today. Atleast build quality wise. I have to say the one 880 I've held feels very solid, just as solid as my old 920.Yup.
Crossover, they have the same options.
The 9835 is more reliable and trusted IMHO... it has better internals.
The 880 does have a larger EQ section though... and it is graphic.

I wasn't aware of that. But then again I haven't trusted Alpine since my bad experience 14 years ago. I personally don't see the need for adjusting the bass that often but to each his own. In my last install I had an EBC for just that but hardly ever touched it.9835 is a good deck. 880 is a good deck also. the 9835 does have something the 880 doesnt do and that is 3-way active with sub woofer control without going into the menu. Its right there with a click of the knob. the 880 has more EQ , so it could go either depending on what you need. I have had 2 of each and like both. If you need some EQ then the 880. If you like quick control of the sub then the 9835. As far as SQ then its more then the deck but alot more about the placement and the install.
Well, when I have a a 150+ daily setup... I really like the sub-out control one push away...It may be more trusted and reliable but that doesn't mean its a necessarily a better deck.
