you can have the manual easily on alpine websiet http://www.alpine1.com... click tech center and then consumer site

browse for head units/archived models/7949 and voila

dude, just mess around with it a little bit mroe, it can't be so hard to find uh?

hold some keys, see if any menu comes up? have you checked under the head unit to see if there was a lever to move to use the subwoofer or anything?

if you live in the canada/united states you could call their technical support thou, that will be piece of cake...

i know someone on my MSN who has a 7949 and i linked him to this thread yesterday but he didnt post the answer, ill talk to him later.... in the meanwhile try something yourself

slaugh i've tried almost every site that i could think off. am trying to see if someone on ebay is selling one and ill ask that person if they could do me that favor of telling me how is done if they have the manual. ill let u know with whatever happened's....

Alpine cda 7949 !! Amazing head unit. !!!

To turn the subwoofer on :

press and hold the power button for at least 3 seconds

pres the F2 button repeatedly to select "SUB.W".

each press of the F2 button changes the modes as follows:

SUB.W

BEEP

CONTRAST

ILLUM

MUTE

D.OUT

If you press F1 button, the display scrolls in reverse secuence.

Press the "Up(>&gt" or "DN(

Note: initial mode is : "SUB. W OFF"

AND: press the PWR button to set the selected mode.
