So my x889 died about three years ago. CD completely seized. I bought a Clarion to do my over temporarily because money was tight. It did well, but I sold it and replaced it with a x993 about a year ago. It now has a brutal popping noise like it is dying. So this week, I went out and bought a CDA 117 from crutchfield after alot of research. Turns out it has the infamous display whine, and my ears are super sensitive to the high frequency it emits, so I am now returning it to crutchfield tommorow.

Any ideas on what I can replace it with? Kenwood is tainted IMO as two of the three I have owned, have died. JVC is now built by Kenwood, so my idea of the 925bt is out the window. The 9887 is hard to find, and doesn't have Ipod control....

Please any ideas would help, I want my music back!!!

I NEED time alignment, and am using outboard amps.

get your self an 9887 you wont be upset, get the ipod adapter, bt adapter, or usb adapter. The bt adapter has ipod input and the other are kinda self explanatory

ive never done a direct swap with a 9887, but from reviews that i have read comparing them the 7200 was the choice.

i was running a pioneer p860mp for a while which is a killer deck (just doesnt have the usb or the ipod capabilities) but the 7200 walks all over it.
