Im getting ready for next year in Meca and was wondering what was a good choice for an spl sub. Im wanting to run 2 12"s and 1500w. I have an 88 CRX and i want to compete in AS3. Some of the subs I was thinking was:

Kicker L7's

Treo SSi's

RE (don't know what kind)

Type R's

Memphis

Any experience with any of the subs would help out. Im open to any other subs i just want to know whats out there before i make a purchase.

Thanks:veryhapp:

Hey Loud1988Honda, im going to be right along with you with Meca. My brother and I are going to enter AS3. We're going to save up for a T30001bd amp. We're going to run it at .35ohm load powering a 18" MT or a MD napalm if it turns out good as they claim it to be....

But back to you I would run a 15" R in a TCAB with that power. the record in that class i believe is a 152.1 so if you get that sub and box and you're close to a 150 you should win some comps. It should put you in the top 12 for that class

im thinking MT also, as long as you have the power and good electrical . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well wit his power, 2 efficient subs is need. car will be off and u can have only 1 batt and thats under the hood. and the amp will be on a fuse. wha amp is it? im thinkin 2 10s or possibly 2 12s. but the higher the cone area the less fuse u can run. im thinkin L7s or even some TYPE S would be a good choice.

md car audio is supposed to release their new subs in January.

Ascedant is comin out with the havoc sub in January too...but L7's are **** sweet...

Kicker has some new circle sub's too, and i think they did some changin around to the L7 line.

i dunno anything much about it though, just from Polecat's posts on sd.com and toxicforum.com

he just said to check the website on Jan 1st for the new junk.

I will be there for AS1. I am running two tens. I would go ahead and purchase two L7s. I think you should wait to see what everyone is coming out with after CES.

Hmm, good luck running that rockford amp at .35 ohm, let alone on the 45 amps of TOTAL fusing you get if you run that 18" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

To the thread starter, go for something that excels at fart notes (thats what CRX's are known for). I'd definitely stay away from the type-r and look more into the L7s.

I was told that they would still be a square design.
