And last, let me write a little conclusion. First let me start out by telling you I am an avid fan of entrepreneur the magazine. I love reading about other companies, and the advice they have to give. I am a much never company than 99% of the companies out there, and hearing what they have to say is great. I would be lying if I said running a company wasn't a learning expieriance. You learn what works, and obviously what doesn't. Of course being new, I expected to make many mistakes, but in all honesty thought things would be easier. But through my troubles I do think I have one thing to offer to anyone who owns a company, or to anyone just about general life.
It call comes down to one thing. And that is Integrity. And that is where I feel I went wrong. I could be wrong about this, but I pretty sure it is the main cause for all the problems I have gone through so far. Let me explain.
This all started back a couple years ago. Through someone on the forums, I aquired an Adire dealer pricing sheet and wanted to get in touch with Adire about becoming a dealer. I did, and they said B&M shops only. So I was disapointed but pretty much gave up on selling Adire audio for the time being. Figuring it would be a long time before I owned my own shop.
Then a few months later I checked Adire's dealer list just to see if anyone had popped up in my area. Still nobody, but I did notice that MANY of the dealers had websites. So this is what sparked my interest.
I thought to myself well how about this, I can sell Adire Audio for an authorized dealer!!! If anyone asked I could just say we are the same company, and Adire would be fine with it. Thinking that Adire allowed normal dealers to sell online if they owned online stores.
Right there was my mistake. At the time I had a feeling there was something seriously wrong with it, although it seemed legit enough, and if other dealers were doing it, why would Adire have a problem if we did it? But we all know how that turned out, and we don't need to get into that.
This is where Integrity comes in. I knew I had nothing to do with Pennypushers more than selling some of the products they carried. But to keep Adire, I had to misinform people about our relationship. I thought it was a small detail, and if everyone is getting their product and happy with it, who cares if pennypushers sold it to them, or I did.
But I couldn't see the ramifications of my actions ahead of time, and forgot to evaluate the consequences. I never in my wildest dreams thought of getting affiliated with someone who could hurt my company as much as Kevin did. Or that a single person could hurt my company this bad. But I guess this is all apart of the learning expieriance. I never thought I would be battling just to prove I am the only owner of my company. It was quite amazing how quickly things escalated.
Anyways, after going through all this I have relised there is only 1 thing I can do. And that is apologize for my wrong doings.
1. Acoustic-Visions- I did post in their forum and bashed Adire Audio products. That was 100% wrong of me. I do apologize for that, and can see why that was wrong. At the time I was angry with problems we were having with them, and should have talked to Adire Audio about it. Going onto that forum and saying anything was wrong with the quality of Adire's products, should have not been done. And I would just like Kyle, and everyone else to know that I sorry for those actions I took.
2. Adire Audio- Well there is so much I don't even know where to begin. But let me start with the entire misrepresenting my affiliation with Pennypushers to aquire your products. That I realise was a huge flaw in the way I went about doing business, and I understand that it caused you huge amounts of aggrevation and time. Next, I would like to apologize for everything that went public. If I had a problem with any of the quality of your products, I should have contacted you directly, to see what was going on and what you had to say. You seem to be an honest man Wiggins, and seem to like to correct any wrongs. That is one thing I have learned from you. You would evaluate the situations with the current drivers, and then go from there. Most of the time the problem was with the customer, and not even the product. Like the guy who overpowered the brahma and blew it because he was looking at the brahma mk2 power handling sheets. I am sorry for always assuming Adire products were at fault in these cases, and would like to let you know that I have always been a huge fan of your products. I owned a mk2 for many years, that was amazing, and it didn't stop working until someone hit me one day while I was driving. Anyways, even though you have said negative things about my company in public, I completely understand your actions. In your situation I would have done the same.
As for things with Kevin. I wish I could help you more there, but that is going to have to be between you and him. Him posting on forums and him calling you, I have nothing to do with, and although I would like to put an end to it, all I can do is stop being affiliated with him myself. So best of luck with that situation, and I hope we see some high quality Adire products in the near future.
Well I hope you guys get something out of all of this and what I had to say about it. Whether things go good or bad, I still like to take something away from it. And although this was a bad expieriance, I do believe I have leanred a lot in the process, and by sharing this, I hope some of you potential business owners, or people just living thier lives have learned something from it as well. My reason for posting this is to help some of you in the future. Although many of the things I have said I am sure seem to be common sense for many of you, I hope you atleast take one thing away from this post that you wouldn't have otherwise. Best of luck to you all, and I hope you can all learn something form my misfortunes.
