i have a 2000 jeep cherokee and the steering wheel is crooked..when i make it straight it just drifts right...also when im driving the wheel moves back and forth...i thing i just need an alignment but im not shure if its somthing worse...help me out thx guys

Jack the front end up & try physically shaking the front wheels while still mounted by hand. If one of em wiggles you prolly have a bad tierod end & need it replaced. If not just take it up to any tire place, it's like $50 for an alignment. It's best to just have a shop do it cause otherwise it's a big hassle with measuring angles of tires & such.

Common issues for a steering wheel wobble is work steering linkage. Its easy to remove and install yourself, but take it to a competent alignment shop afterwards. You will be able to see excessive play in the tie rod ends. Any type of up/down movement beyond anything more than 1/16th of an inch indicates worn parts.

Also another indication of steering wheel wobble is worn tires. If they have poor wear (uneven, cupped, chopped) then that is a strong indication of cause for the wobble. Worn steering components, worn suspension components and/or lack of tire rotations will cause this.

For the steering wheel off center, its just an adjustment to the tie rod ends if they all seem tight enough.

but it looks like a bar is bent under there it connects to the steering components not to shure what that is

You're best taking it to a shop.

Steering wobble could be a number of things, uneven tire wear in the front, improper wheel balance, etc.

+1 take it to a shop..

Could be a number of things, the part your seeing that looks bent is probably just shaped like that.

Look in your yellow pages, your almost always better off with a mom and pop type alignment shop (that only does alignments) then dealing with the idiots at Monroe or Pepboys type places..
