ALDI Food Stores

DINGDINGDINGDINGDING!!!!! What do we have for him, Johnny?!?!?!?!

Actually yes, Meijer is da bomb up there... Wal-Mart blows, 'cause most of 'em aren't SuperCenters (the 3 I went to weren't anyways), and Meijer is just like Wal-Mart Super Center.... close as I could tell, anyways, but maybe a better deli section... I think housewares was nicer, too.

Only IMNSHO. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
From Oklahoma and calling Michigan a dump? Can we say irony?

Anyway, most of the Wal-Marts here have been converted to Super Centers, as have most I have seen everywhere now. The biggest difference is that Meijer has an actual meat department with butchers on staff, whereas Wal Mart just gets meat from a distribution center.

Yep, Meijers is where we go. They actually clearance stuff, especially clothes. When they wanted to get rid of the summer clothes, they had shirts for $2, shorts for $5, and polos for $5. All real brands too.
I worked for a Meijer for a summer, absolute *** holes for bosses and actually pay and treat you worse than Wal Mart. They do have a union however so you are a little better off from getting fired and the like.

Ummmm... yeah. I lived in that hellhole called Detroit for about a year, and I can tell ya, there's almost nothing that would bring me back there for more than a visit to friends. I can't say much about the rest of Michigan, but Oklahoma's a frigging paradise compared to that shit. lol

Detroit != all of Michigan. Detroit is a hell hole, but as for the west side or northern area of the state, I would take it over any other place in the country.

Maybe it's nice for 4 months out of the year.... then it goes to shit again! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

j/k man, I hate the cold, snow and ice, so that equates to misery in Michigan. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It's nice from Late April to mid October, pretty much half of the year. I couldn't stand living in a place that all 4 seasons didn't have distinct differences. And we only have 2 seasons in Michigan, Winter and Road Construction.

you can get better flowers from kroger/giant eagle for essentially the same price ($20 for a dozen).

Anyways, I've never been a fan of Aldi, but they are okay if you know what to expect. Its kinda a culture shock the first time you go tho. I remember going as a kid and thinking "this place sucks, why aren't we at the regular grocery store." Guess I was a snobby little brat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
