ALDI Food Stores

That's my picture.

Man, my grandma always shops there, I remember when I used to go through the big line of carts finding quarters people left in them. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

X2 on Publix.

When it comes to store preference I am with Flip. I like Publix, but not necessarily for the same reason. Poor people don't scare or bother me. I like the no BS aspect of shopping there. I don't need some silly car or watch for crazy sales. On average I find the cost to be well within the "saver card" stores, but without the hassle.
The thing about Publix costing more is based on a pricing misperception. Item for item, on national brands Publix and Krogers are roughly equal. Where the misperception occurs is the Publix generally offers a premium brand or two (perhaps organic) whereas Krogres offers an offbrand or two, in addition to the national brand. It creates a misperception in the minds of customers that Publix is "too expensive"

At that booze fest thing, I asked a 30 year old dance instructor if she picked up her free condom from one of the vendors. She was pretty much dumbfounded.

Skipped the last few pages, so i'm not sure if it was said.. The 1.99 price for the bag is to make you bring it back every time.. Yeah, it's very dickish for them to not GIVE you one assuming your buying a bunch of stuff, over in Europe in the normal stores they'd charge no more than a euro for a bag, and it'd be like a mall bag that would not tear, rip, or have any problems to be used for a long time.. and half the time, if you hinted and asked nice enough, you could get one for free. If it was 1.99 for a paper or plastic bag, i see what you mean lol.. But they're trying to push people to be more conversative i guess, it's VERY interesting to see that Aldi and Lidl are coming over here though.. Is Albert Heijns here too now?

Last minute edit: In Europe, i loved all the little chains as they carried different brands for the most part.. I found some meat i loved from Albert Heijns over there and i ate for filthy cheap for the month i was in Amsterdam.. We spent about 20-30 dollars a day and lived like royalty. :-D
