Alarm messed

my alarm is really messed up but i think it just may be the siren....whenever i arm or disarm it the siren makes a faint noise...and if its night time when i turn on the lights the siren will make the same but continous faint noise...i am thinking of just removing the grounding wire from the siren so it wont work at all but the alarm would work as normal...and if someone breaks in itll page me..itll act like a silent alarm..what do u guys think?

i do have 2 year warranty from best buy...but i have no time for them to take out the alarm and wait for it to be repaired and then installed again since i have school and im busy this whole month....i would get it repaired in december when i finish exams

what brand alarm? best buy has no middle of the line alarm... they're either great alarms or total shit.

if you feel confident enough to try it yourself, re-ground the brain, that sounds like a familiar problem

its audiovox ax700...the grounding on the siren was terrible...and i think its too late to find a better ground for the siren...its already messed up

take it back and have 'em fix it... they have a lifetime warrenty on labor

the thing is that i have no time ne time soon to do this....they take really long to get it repaired ...so u think just disconnecting the siren for now will be okay for the time being?

my pager will alert me if someone breaks in..

honestly I don't know how an audiovox alarm works, I can't imagine there'd be anything wrong with doing that though.

try regrounding the alarm

When you have a continuous faint noise through the siren, it usually means you have a poor ground on the alarm brain itself. Try re-grounding the alarm.

Do it on the weekend man, im sure you can go without your car for one day. Just make arrangements for your girlfriend, brother, parents, or friends to help you out buddy
