I agree with this post. I don't think the voters in Alabama thought this one through. Yes, Obama being elected was a huge step in the history of blacks. It by no means deserves the waste of money and attention its getting. At least wait until he has served some of his term, and we see this change that has been promised.

As for the "coin" it is not a REAL coin, it is a dollar or half dollar peice (forgot which one) colored and engraved with Obama's image. Therefor they can call it a US coin, but the 1 dollar coin worth supposedly 10 dollars and costs 15 is nothing but a way for the New England Mint, a company not a Mint, to make money.

I completely agree with this. I will admit I have racial tendencies but only towards those whom bring it about themselves. Yes, obama has been elected president but if african americans want to be treated equal than until obama does something worth rewarding then and only then should he receive recognition and maybe a holiday or something of that sort.
