air leak question

ok i think my sealed box is leaking air. ive only mounted it once, ive checked all the screws and it seems fine. when i push on the center of the cone, its hard to push.. and verrrrryyyy slowly comes back out. this guy at my audio shop said 2 different things when i asked the same question twice (which is why im asking here, cuz he obviously is confused? lol) i asked him if i had an air leak, and thats why its so hard to push. he said yes. then about 5 minutes later, i asked again out of curiosity and this time he said, no... its because its a sealed box. so it will feel hard, and slowly come back out (pushing on the center of the cone) -- soo.... is my box leaking, or since its sealed. its a dual sealed enclosure, only using one of them. i had it in the other side which has multiple screw holes. when i pushed the cone in on that one, it acts fine. moved back and fourth with no problem, comes back to place almost instantly. so which is it?

If you have a good seal it will do as you said and be hard to push in then move out slowly.
