This is all absolutely true. I recently watched an episode of the Christian television program "Dog the Bounty Hunter" where Dog and his squadron of no less than 10 bounty hunters marauded a man's apartment for close to an hour, had a stand off with the man and had to take extra precaution when the man brandished a gun and hunting knife. Dog apprehended the man and took him back to the car to drive him to jail. During the trip to the jail Dog loosened the man's handcuffs and put them in the front because he saw the man was wearing a cross necklace. Dog said to the man, in regards to the excessive force he had to use to get the man in custody "you were holding us back with a rifle and a hunting knife so we had to take you down hard, but now that I see your cross I know that you're a good man."
This is completely true. An atheist felon with a rifle and hunting knife shooting at a law enforcement/bounty hunting official is a bad person with no moral barometer. A felon with a rifle and hunting knife shooting at a law enforcement/bounty hunting official who has a cross around his neck is a good man, albeit troubled, that still has a moral compass, as opposed to the atheist one.
