Afternoon trip (TL score and new subs..pics included)

yeah the my box was in no way for numbers. HU has that big of an effect on number? Kinda scares me because I have an alpine 9884 and I dont think the preouts are that great.
It made enough of a difference that I'd never buy a HU with under 4v preouts ever again...at least a 1 dB gain in my case.

I still had the amp turned up to high heaven with the 5v preouts too, because that sub would take the abuse all day, my entire cab would smell like coil and the sub never get hot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Yea but i really dont want to have to buy another HU, but im sure it would help with clipping.
In mine, I had slight clipping because of how high I had the amp turned up. Coil would get smelly, but I could beat on it all day, no problems.

Of course, with higher voltage preouts you can turn the gain down and prevent clipping. You can also much more easily send it more power, but if you're in the area where you were clipping before, you'll end up sending it more power AND a clipped signal...=BAD
