i was going to build ported box for my avalanche tomorrow using PVC for the ports. no flare at either end. straight pipe.

how many and how long for a 28hz tune if the box is 6.4 cu ft. would like to use 3" or 4" pipe and i have to keep the amount of ports to an equal number...

thanks...

yeah, but this isnt for flared ports.

just trying to get someone to figured it up with non flared ports.

oh, it looks like it will work for straight also...

hmmm... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It lists two results: The port length required for non flared ports and the port length required for flared ports.

Edit: He found it

yep, thanks... i used that a couple times yesterday and today but i forgot it had non flared lengths also...

If you get some flared ends you can go with about 50% less port area:)

Try to go for about 16 in^2 per ft^3 of volume. A 4" port has ~12.56 in^2 of port area. I would try to do around 6 ports but that may be difficult with a 28hz tuning because the ports may need to be a bit longer.

You could try to make the port longer, but there might be other reasons with the box won't extend lower, or even the sub. You'd have to reverse...

While that program is pretty neat, it assumes you know the values. I was just recapping the numbers you provided. RS recommends the following...
