Advice choosing entry level CDT components

I was getting ready to order a CDT CL-61A 6.5" component set from theZeb (operating on a very tight budget right now) when I saw on the CDT website a new model KA-61 which sells for just about the same ~$150.00 price range. Has anyone had experience with these new KAMA models? It seems to have an advantage with a 1" silk tweeter instead of the 3/4" but beyond that I'm not sure how to judge.

I'll be powering these from 2 channels of a MTX thunder684. My plan is to later add an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.0 sub bridged on the other 2 channels.

Found out today that theZeb didn't actually have the speakers I wanted in stock. I think I'll cancel the backorder and look elsewhere. I don't have any IM programs installed - does anyone have an email address for Djdilliodon ? If I could get a good deal I wouldn't mind moving up a notch from the 61A's. - Thanks

Just canceled my theZeb backorder and ordered some EF-61's from Djdilliodon - GREAT PRICE! and an authorized dealer to boot! Had no problem ordering from someone with so many good recommendations. Looking forward to some good sound! Hopefully this will bring out the sound from the Alpine HU as opposed to the Kenwood coax's I'm replacing - the highs on those things are like a drill bit to the ear!

you gonna amp them?

Funny - that leads to my next question! I've got an Alpine 9833 running to an MTX Thunder684 - see excerpt from my manual"

THUNDER684

• RMS Power measured at 12.5 Volts DC:

60 Watts x 4 into a 4 Ohm load with less than 0.3% Thd+N

120 Watts x 4 into a 2 Ohm load with less than 0.3% Thd+N

240 Watts x 2 bridged into a 4 Ohm load with less than 0.3% Thd+N

Will I need to bridge to 240w ea and crank the amp gain down really low to push these or will it be OK to run 60W RMS ea to these drivers? I kind of want to reserve the rear channels to bridge and drive my yet to be acquired Infinity subwoofer.

Any comments? This is great getting real world knowledge!

i run my CL line at 150 rms with the gain crank 1/4 way to max...they are friggin SWEET....and i also highly recommend getting the image kit CDT makes, i have the TW-21/LP and they are rockin
