okay I have a brx 1400.1d amp. it's 1 ohm stable. right now I'm running my 2 12s at 4 ohms but I have another 12, though a different model it's got the same rms rating and number of coils. I want to wire it to my amp at 2.7 ohms but do you think it'll be okay? they're rated at 600 rms but I'm feeding the 2 12s 275 a piece. they sound fine though I'm not really pushing them. but until I get this singer alt I gotta keep it over 2 ohms. the amp puts out 900 rms at 2 ohms. will this harm my amp? it barely gets warm after an hour of playing so that shouldn't be much of a problem

huh...how do they have the same coil but different ohm load? are you asking if you can wire the 3 bus together, or remove the 2 subs and just use the single sub?

yes you can run the single sub at 2.7 just set your gains properly.

the amp should be fine at that load.

Oh ok yea as stated above theres mothing wrong with that an amp can run at higher ohm loads than rated just under umless stated they can. Youll be fine

I took it all out. I had 12 gauge wires running from each sub in series/parallel. 3 Dvc 4 ohm subs, I did everything how I saw it done. they played for a minute, then cut out. then after checking to make sure the wires were all the way in on the terminals I started it up again, heard a shock and then it smoked

open up the amp see where it burned

maybe you had a little looses strand of wire connecting your remote, ground, or power cables. it happened to me i had a little bit of ground and remote wires touching eachother and they caused some sparks. luckily it didnt fry my amp
