Adire...TC?

I agree with bassaddict when I had my 3hp I loved it. Get really low sounded great, and got loud. I had a xxx which was xbl^2 and it sounded just as good to my ear but wasn't as "loud". It is a toss up really but the tc 3000 is cheap, can take a beating, and getting a recone from tc is cake.

XBL^2 drivers have a specific sound to them, some people love it and swear they'll never go back to "conventional" motor designs again, others think it sounds too "dry" and "clinical" for them.
Personally, I'd go with the Brahma. Let's face it, customer service is atrocious for either company (ignorant on TC's side, nonexistent for Adire)...so it comes down to the merits of the speakers. The Brahma simply sounds more musical to me than the TC2+/TC9 drivers I've listened to.
lol i was waiting for someone to bring up tc's cs track record

I was thinking of purchasing the TC 3k, regardless I'd have the Brahma. I was going to do a comparison and build an enclosure for both and see which one sounds best to me, but then comes along the issue of having to sell. I don't want to take a loss, more on the TC part and building the enclosures is going to cost some, not too much. I think I'll play it safe, run the Brahma, whenever that may be, and if TC still has the sale and if I'm not please by the Brahma then I can go with TC.

Same with adire's non existent customer service. TC takes care of all of their customers weither you people agree with how they do it or not.
i don't like either company. however i take care of my subs and never had the problem of needing a recone. i know people who have waited 6-8 months on recones from adire //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

So a sub-par job is still considered "taking care of your customers"?

If you took your car to a shop and they used the wrong part to fix it, are they really doing their job?

Hmm, having owned both a 15" MK1 Brahma and 15" Tumult, I'd say the opposite.

The XBL's lowend (30-40hz) sounds very deep and warm, with tight sounding 40-50 hz region. Past 55 or so hz it falls off...they are true subwoofers in my opinion (i.e. excel in the low, low regions).

Also, I've heard (personally) Brahmas get stupid loud (this was at DB Drag event a few years ago)...this was 1 Brahma in a 30hz tuned box...it shook everything in my head!

Not disagreeing with you on that shitty destroyer fiasco, but I believe we are speaking of general customer service. In the end they took care of the guy with the destroyer and everyone that had issues with their cones.

sub-par? like when a forum member here killed his tc-3000 for the second time, and tc sent him an lms4000, and let him keep his 3000 as well? that kind of subpar?
No jim is talking about a shitty hybrid they tried to build...The point is they take care of all their customers in the end.

so does adire. it just takes close to a year for a recone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I had my 12 inch Brahma in 2.3 cube box tuned to 27hz with 1500 watts going to it. It was mounted in my trunk facing backwards with little sound deadner and it hit 140dbs at 48 hz. They get plenty loud IMO but my TC 3K gets louder but either one will be plenty loud. If you do not have a good front stage that plays down to 55 hz well then you will most likely have a gap between where the fronts fall off and the sub (Brahma) picks up. The TC 3K might fill this gap better.
