Adire Shiva.. pushed by...?

Hey guys.. I got my 2 Adire Shiva's (12") I know im going out on a limb here, what is a good amp to push them? Keeping in mind.. i dont have money to get a new alternator (PG) Thanks..

It depends. What kind of box are you using (size, type and tuning)? What are you looking for, pure SQ, pure SPL, or a mix of both?

In the right size box, two would get pretty loud and still sound good off 200 watts a piece. I'd say ideal would be about 400 watts per sub. But they work great of very little power.

Guess i should have included that huh, Well i Want near pure SQ, but a lil spl is cool, But just running them louder should fix that. Um, Im Going with a sealed MDF box, once i make it.

But by what Amp? I have a few in mind..

I'm using an Arc Audio 1500D-R on mine...

What's your budget and what is the rating of your stock alt? Are you running any other amps/neons/strobes/etc ?

jbl is always pretty cheap on ebay and gives you a good bang for your buck, i paid 250 for a bp 1200.1

Yeah, sorry. my computer likes to just.. comit ******* every once and a while. Well. um.. I dont now what a Arc is... I have no idea about my alt. it is stock,... no other things yet.. Im working on it. I'm gonna get another battery and a capacitor to run everything. Buget.. well im shopping around right now. From my looks so far, 300 or so.

That sounds pretty good. That JBL sounds like a good idea.. but.. how about quality? since i am running the "Pretty Good" Adire's .

Don't get a cap...save that money and find an alternator shop and have them rewind your alternator- it will do more than any cap can...

For an amp, I would look for something that does around 800 watts at 2 ohms...

Yeah, that what i had in mind.. i have been looking at D Class pushing around 600, than i was pointed to that 1200.1, so i went looking for really cheap PG's MA's etc. So i guess. i really need help on what kinda amp? From the amps im looking at.. i think $20 here and there is worth the quality. Not to mention i was think about adding maybe two more speakers eventually.. so i dont know.

Anyways.. I do need some help on some good amps. This is so far on my list:

Kicker KX600.1

JBL BP600.1 or 1200.1

MTX 6500D

US Acousitc USX 800D

Rockford 500BD'

PG Octane R8.0:1

APline MRD M500

PG Titanium 800.1 (but pretty expensive)

and than i guess a used one is ok.

actually the manual isn't. there was some site were they gave a review and the amp is good for the price

AND IT'S A MONO AMP AND YOU CAN PLAY TWO SUBSFROM IT

only thing i hate is that at 1 ohm it doesn't get any louder

But the gain and freq and db+ controls allow you to set ur sub for deep bass or punchy bass, I love it i might get another one, but i gotta buy my subs 1st which might set me back 600$, (2 12" orion h2's)

I personally wouldnt buy a refurbed

There really are too many amps out there. I recomend for you between 200 to 400 watts per sub. That should be more than enough. As long as the amp produces the rated power and has features right for your system, any will work. I'd say for box, about 2 cubes each sealed should work great for you.

But you have swayed my opinion towards JBL. It does sound very interesting. That is kinda weird about the 1ohm thing.

Hey stupid Q. I was looking at some MA's and... i was noticing the Stereo ability. How would u set something like that up.. i have a good idea.. but i dont wanna blow my speakers playing with it.

Yeah i do agree. Most companies will do what they have to just to fix it as cheap as possible and get it back out. So i dont trust reburbs either.
