Adire going out of business

I miss my Shivas...best 12's I've owned...err the only 12's I've owned. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Amazes me how Eduh is still in business, but Adire isn't.
Not really.

Eminence build. LAWl...

going out of business sale anyone?
Can't have a sale when you don't have any product now can you?

This blows. No more Brahmas, Kodas, Extremis, Tempests... I wonder if they are gonna sell off the xbl^2 rights.

Im really amazed. With the product they had going, the new motor design everyone was talking about (xbl^2), their OEM work... frankly Im shocked they couldn't make a go of it.

IMO nothing seemed right when they moved out of the country...I didn't follow much after that except to pop on SI.net to see everyone start to hate DW lol.

you dont want that b stock junk he was trying to pedal over the last few months, he took the exact same sub and through another slug on it and callled a different sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

That's what happens when you don't really know how to design your own speakers...

It seems...

well considering you had to go on a man hunt lately to get extremis/bramahs/tempests. I can't say that I am surprised. A friend of mine called SEVERAL dealers/distributors for adire trying to hunt down some extremis about a month ago...All of them said the same thing.

"We haven't heard ANYTHING from Adire in months."

He finally found a pair of BNIB extremis from some dealer....the "date of production" was late 2005. He bought the speakers in April 07.

Looks like years of screwing people over have finally caught up to Wiggins. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did once the whole Chile manufacturing facility stuff started happening.

And BTW, people are still making XBL^2 drivers.

Meh...

indeed

going out of business sale anyone?
As NG said- no drivers, no sale (and what drivers they may have around.. 50-60% probably don't work correctly anyways, lol)

Robot Underground bought up the last of the inventory a few months ago I believe. They got some crazy amount of motors for pretty cheap.
Robot underground always snatches up the good shit, then resells it at retarded high prices:(

It mentions on the audiojunkies link that Dan and crews may already have something new in the works...

As I posted on DIYMA, Dan and David have a new company, called ADI that they are doing OEM work through. As for XBL^2 (now being referred to as the more sensical term SplitGap), it is still being implemented in a number of drivers, primarily through the companies that the OEM side of Adire was supporting in the first place.

It's a shame, but when you can't get a recone right, you're probably in trouble.

Im surprised how many people think that music with virtually inaudible distortion sounds dry or lifeless. Im not dissing your opinion, in some ways I prefer the sound of traditional non-BL optimized drivers too... but that's sort of a sad statement about our quest for perfection in sound reproduction isnt it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
