Adire Audio Koda 6.1 Components

Got Adire?
I'm wondering how they measure up against other components I'm looking to upgrade to, for instance the MB Quart DSD 216's. Also, if I were to upgrade to the Koda's, I'd be running all Adire and now I'm wondering if they sponsor people. Maybe Dan Wiggins (sorry if I spell your name wrong) can clarify for me or somebody else in the chat.

Adire does sponsor a few people, as do I... But it's few and far between...

The Koda's were designed to hold their own with the high end quarts, the focals, the dynaudios, and rainbows, while doing it at a much smaller cost...

You'll find that for the price, you likely won't find another set out there that does what it can, as well as it can. The tweeter on the Quarts have always been a downfall to me, so I'd suggest waiting on the Koda set.... I have a set coming myself... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

When can I order some and what are your and Adire's criteria for becoming sponsored? I plan on attending as many SQ comps as I can as soon as I get a pair and get everything sorted.

What if I were to switch the 6.5 Infinity speaker from my component set with a Koda?

If I were to hook it up to the crossover that came with the Infinitys would everything work out?

they would probably work, but not optimally. the koda crossover is waaay better than anything that infinity offers.

Originally posted by bootleg Hey Jlaine, when do they come out for sale and will you cary them and if so, will you offer the same deal with free shipping as the Adire subs you sell?
Yes bootleg, I will offer free shipping with the Koda 6.1 component system... They are looking at shipping middle of october, around the 20th was the expected release date... So about right after IASCA finals when I get back, they should be rocking and rolling... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Drkman- it's STRONGLY suggested you don't try to use the infinity crossover system. The crossover is by far one of the most crucial components in a component system. You buy the system with the crossovers, keep 'em in there.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

curious how you know that....have you tested out both? ripped apart each schematic to see how one betters the other.....just need some insight in to why it is wayyyyyy better?

Well, considering that the crossover is probably the most important component in the system, it is extremely important to have it match what components you have. What I was getting at, was that no matter which Infinity crossover you use on them, the drivers are different, and it can cause problems. Perhaps I overstepped, but from my understanding, the Adire crossovers use parts from companies like Solen, known for their quality, and low tolerances, whereas the Infinity's are mass built, and most likely use lower grade parts. If I am wrong, I will retract my statement tho.

just the way you worded it...irked me.....just because they are adire they MUST be better....when you know nothing about the insides of an infinity crossover....each crossover serves a purpose, each crossover is built for the drivers intended to be used on it.....

crossover components is a start.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
