adio explores upper-class black neighborhood.....

i grew up around affluent african americans. I've known more poor white people than black people and WAY more white people in debt than black people (because the CC companies don't give black males credit cards unless they are in college).

general society has no clue of the money the african american community has, this site proves it over and over

what site?

You have me curious now. Do you live far from that area? I assume you were doing business in MD to make you want to head out to the burbs like that.

I meant this site proves how unknowing general society is of african american wealth. My cousins used to live over in PG county, but they lived in a way nicer part. They've since moved to a better part (can't remember the name of the town though, its near a huge mall though). If you think that's baller, go to Atlanta. I have family there all over the different suburbs and that's where they are really ballin.

People forget there are black doctors, lawyers, bankers, CEOs, etc and these unpublicized people are making serious money. I know some pittsburgh people with money that went to college with me so I'm pretty surprised you are so shocked

1st. you dont look 34

2nd. im glad you pointed this out. to give a different look. i myself never ever had heard or thought a place like this was real.

3rd. i think its awesome that this place kills all stereotypes about black neighborhoods.

4th. its sad that there are such a tiny amount of places like this that it makes it into books.

5th. i would have told that guy im recording my trip. if he had more questions id just roll up the window.

6th. i deliver pizzas part time and ALWAYS keep my car remote started, doors locked and lights on when in any neighborhood 60%black or more because of the crime rate. but id feel fine not doing those things in that neighborhood.

that's funny because most vandals of pizza vehicles are college kids

fuck yo, i'm so glad u came in here!!!!

i'm stereotypin atl with this question....... isn't alot of that black wealth from entertainers and athletes?

talkin to atoz350 over at ct, he makes it seems as if alot of the residents there are isolated to themselves. its great to have a buncha doctors, lawyers, ceos, corporate and blue collar business owners, etc., but if people don't feel and/or act connected to one another, the neighborhood will be and remain pretty sterile.

some is the operative word here. i wasn't so much shocked as i was very suprised
