I've been around to a couple of other forums but no one seems to be offering any useful info, hopefully people here are a little more friendly.
I am adding subs to my Shaker 500. I ordered a Cadence TX-A1000D, 1000rms @ 1ohm and have it installed already. I attached a pic of my amp install. I have a couple questions...
I already put two 10" Kicker CVR's in a probox on layaway at a local car audio store. Brand new out of the box with warranty for $150, couldn't really resist that deal. I'm waiting until I get extra cash after christmas to pay the other half. I'm going to wire them down to a 1ohm load of course. Would this be a good setup or should I go for something better later on, like type R's? I'm a little limited on trunk space with the car being both a mustang and a convertible.
My second concern was about rattling. I know I'm probably going to need to dynamat the **** out of the trunk. The trunk on my car is bare metal... I'm also worried about the convertible top's hydraulic components. I'm not sure if the hydraulics might shake around and mess up with the top down, along with causing extra rattle noise. It would be great if someone with experience installing on a 'vert could offer their two cents.
Thanks for the help!
