Hey guys, Im building my new stereo build and never ran this kind of wattage so I never had to upgrade my battery or alternator. So my new system will be running a total of 3600 wrms. I am getting a Mechman 270a alternator. I want to add a deep cycle Spiral Cell battery because I recently replaced my stock battery about 6 months ago. So since I am already spending alot of money on an alternator, I am on a bit of a budget. I can get an Optima Yellowtop for around $160. I know that I can't mixmatch types of batteries such as my stock spiral cell battery with an AGM battery.
So are there any other options for a deep cycle spiral cell battery? I read on this forum about the Diehard Platinum was a good choice. I also read that Deka is a great battery at a low cost, but like I said, I'd have to replace my stock battery and buy a secondary battery.
So what would my best option be? I'd like to stay around the $200 range or under if I go with two batteries, if thats even remotely possible. I do need some pretty beefy batteries if I go with two or a pretty beefy battery if I add a spiral cell battery. I can add a decent size battery in my accessory battery tray in my 2008 Sierra. I believe my primary battery is a Type 48 battery IRRC. Its an odd battery. I believe I have some room there though.
Sorry, Im not new to car audio, Im just very new when it comes to batteries.
