Adding or Replacing a Battery?

I was just wondering, Would I be better off adding a battery or replacing my Interstate battery?

With something like a Kinetik, XS Power or Optima.

I'd probably just say replace. Just my opinion. Some people like having a red top for starting, and yellow top for system, but I'd only say do that if you're pushing a LOT of power.

I already have 4 gauge running to the trunk btw and my system isn't too power hungry I guess. Only 1,000watts.

I just want to be able to listen to music for 15-20 minutes with the car off and be able to start it back up as nothing happened.

Just 2 12s and an Audiopipe 1500 and I just want to be able to listen to music for an extended period with the car off.

Add a battery like a kinetik 1400 in back. You will want something that has pretty decent capacity for engine off listening for sure.

the hc 1400 is a very solid bat, ran one for a while and loved it.

i wouldnt recommend running and amp for a long time with the car off, depending on how much current it draws it can kill a batt pretty quickly

also which ap 1500 are you running, the 300.2 or the 1500.1?

as long as your not hitting it full tilt, you may be ok, but you have to be careful not to tun the amp on too little volts

You do not want the battery dropping into a low state of charge and leave the alt to do all the charging (was not ment nor designed to do that) A good charger like a ctek MUS7002 and a ctek charge indicator would be all you would need to help that. I have a friend who has 2 kinetik batteries in his car a 1400 under the hood to start up a a 550 hp 383 and a 1200 in back for an ap 1800 and 120 watt mids/highs amp and he plays ps2 on it for longer than 30 minutes at a time with the engine off and volume up.
