hii

i have alpine pdx-5 amplifer 5 channel..its give 300 watt rms for subwoofer at 2 om or 4 om

and i have alpine sws-1243d subwoofer that need 300 rms power and can connect at 2 om

i alawys smile somthing burn when subwoofer work and after 3 week of installion the subwoofer smoked and dead> i check the connection of it that the person in the audio shop install it i found he connect it wrong >>the sub have 4 chanel he conect the black banna to the other black one and the red to the other red but he connect the + wire from the amp to the first red(its ok) and coonect the - wire to the black banana beside the + wire not the last black so i think that was the reason feo burn

now i get a new one yesterday the same sub and i connect it as manual at 2 om

its work good but after half hour i smile a burn smile from it so i discontect it and i am afraid to loose the one too

so what is the wrong?

may be just break in? may be the gain is high and give hight power for the sub? may be the smile for burning for the previos sub burning?

what can i do now

thanks alot

You have your amp gain turned up too high and are clipping the signal causing lots of heat at the speaker. Basically your wanting too much from your equipment.

The wiring as it was should be fine as long as the 2 blacks and 2 reds were connected together(doesnt matter which was 1st or last)

Turn off bass boost and read the gain setting tutorial, like this one on using a DMM to set the gains:

thanks for information>> i weny yasterday to the audio shop to check the output

from amp he found that the amp get over heat from resistance from subwoofer that mean the amp output more power so he reduse the gain just make the sub work fine

but not much bass and redce the level of bass from headunite

and he told me to get more power sub min 400 rms (the alpine amp tested in factory and write in it its out 420 rms for sub but the manual say 300)
