Ok so i just got a 1000 watt alpine amp and jl10w7 sub installed in my 06 bmw 325i, im prolly bout to add an alpine 9886 head unit. I have yet to hear a set of mids and tweets that i like better than my stock ones so i was just wondering if adding say a mcintosh car amp or something simular would make my system sound better??

Really?? I listened to some 1000$ focal mids and tweets today and wasnt near as impressed as i was with my stock speakers. Even the boston set that cost about the same was better than the focal.

The problem is that i can only fit a 4 inch speaker in my door so.......

It's probably the setup - how did you listen to the speakers? Were they on a display wall, or did you listen to them in a sound deadened car with a proper installation?

And that's what kick panels are for. A 4 inch speaker doesn't have the proper range. You'll be adding an amp, but the speakers are playing to their absolute limits - that's how they've designed it. And equalizing has been done to help even out limits in the system.
