adding a battery

Ok guys I was thinking about adding another battery to the electrical....Right now Im suppose to have 1900 watts flowing through all my speakers on a 105 amp alternator and a 1 month old duralast battery. Big 3 is done but when the volume is up I get light dimming(but dont even drop below 12.7 volts) So I was thinking about getting this Shuriken SK-BT20 20AH battery for real cheap...do you think a 20ah battery will be fine???

personally with 1900 watts i would have added a batt regardless of alternator output and i cant comment on that battery, but just about anything will be better than what you currently have, i would also try checking the voltage at various spots, and how did you check the voltage?

yea just did some more testing and on bass heavy songs at 47/52 volume I actually get 14.2 at the battery and 13.5 at the amp with volts dropping to 13.0 at the most.....but I still see dimming...

Edit: these type-r are real good with cooling lol....They got hot off one song but if I play another song at 3/4th the volume they cool themselves back down tremendously...

i was waiting till i saved up some more money to upgrade the battery....but volt drops arent that bad because the amps arent even seeing 12 unless I start clipping...

I was also wondering about my RCA channels...how do you check to make sure they are sending signals and that the speakers are actually seeing watts??? Because I was checking my speakers and I noticed the tweeter is working on one but not the mid and I noticed when I had 2 RCAs plugged in all 4 speakers worked but when I plugged in the other RCAs and unplugged the 1st two none of the speakers worked....

105 amp alt and 2 batteries would work but I would get an agm charger and monitor the system because as far as I know no battery companies cover "UNDERCHARGING" which is what this would be considered.

Ok I was and am going to go get another battery to put in the trunk but I wanted to save up some money first...

Can you explain to me why its considered undercharging when the volts at the amp dont dip anywhere close to 12.5 with the volume cranked??? Im trying to learn about this as much as I can...

Easy the back battery will get used more than the front and a charged battery rests higher than 12.5 (wet cell or agm if it is charging). When a battery can discharge at greater than 4c and can only recharge at (.3 to .4c) it may be able to do some short term bulk charging at a higher rate but it will get hot and its still much slower than its discharge rate. Your alt isnt big enough if you do loud listening. Your car will use 30-40 amps just to run so that drops your alt down to around ~70 amps which it will be less than that at idle or lower speeds. A true 1900 watt system can pull more than your alt can put out max without even considering what the car needs to run.
