Active, do you need to BP a 4"

I'm going to try an active setup. 3 ways comps + sub.

I'm not sure if bandpassing the 4" is needed. If so I will need an extra 2ch amp. (I have 4+2 amplified channels)

My option now is HP the 4" from the active crossover using the passive crossover just for the tweeter. They are ribbon emit tweeters, they are playing pretty high from the passive (5k hz, guessing). If the tweeters are playing this high, is bandbasing the 4" needed? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Yes, you'll likely need to bandpass them. But, IIRC, I though you were still going to use the passive to split the frequencies between the mid and tweet? Which means you'd only need to actively highpass the mid.

The stock passives are 3 ways. They have separate inputs for H-M-L. (it looks as 6 filters in one box).

What I'm wanting to do is lowering the 4" crossover point a bit, so I could just use the passive for HP the tweeter.

I have 4 ch bandpass in the active but I don't have individual amp channels for the tweeters and the 4"s.
