Active capable HU vs Processor

Right now my mids/tweeters are wired, and my 4ch amp is in the mail. I would like to go active as soon as possible, but I do not have the means to do so yet. My HU is 3 years old, and a low model line at that, so I don't mind switching it out to an active capable unit.

My question is this: Which solution would be the better one: A stand alone processor, or an active capable head unit?

Limit is $360, since that is what the 800prs would cost.

Discuss.

I would switch out the HU for the 800prs it's a lot less of a hassle and you get a new deck out of it.

The reason I bought a nice processor is because I have a double din dvd HU with not much processing and I'm running a 3way active up front with rear fill and of course the sub, so I pretty much needed a lot more processing ability.

A lot of amps have nice crossovers built in...so you might be able to use that...The crossover section in my PCX 4125 is one of the best I've ever used...each little detent in the potentiometer...is a specific freq...so you can precisly tune it...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
