Active & Processing?

I am trying to find out what the best way to proceed is here. I will layout several options I think I have but not sure. Not sure if I am trying to over process or just headed in right direction. I will list what I have and you guys can tell me which way you would go. The 8455 has some processing but was thinking of using just the T/A. I will be using my Rainbow Profi Van CS365's, testing out speaker placement so got that covered.

HU-8455 or 880PRS gottem both(will try both & give a review between the two at a later date)

ARC MEQ-30 x 2

ARC MX-3(not sure if needed)

Might purchase ARC KEQ-5 if needed not sure what I gain, if anything.

My signature contains everything going into new system.

Options I looked at ARC DXE not sure I can come up with that kinda cash flow ever for one peice of equipment. Found Orion DEQ-30 BNIB but they want $379.99 and don't know much about them. I would like to use what I have as I have already spent the cash.

I am trying not get stupid with just throwing around cash I really don't have to be spending right now.

Yes I know about the Alpine option but trying to do something different than what is popular right now. Already have the other HU.

The DXE looks neat but I'm partial to AudioControl.. I love my DQXS and its crazy amount of control. There are many non digital options too with the 2XS, 24XS, and the 6XS... What kind of active setup are you looking to do? a 2-way or 3-way?

The Rainbows are 3-way set-up plus the sub so 4-way active set-up. The DXE does 4-way but the cost is way up there. They retail for like 1899.00 found 1 on ebay for 1200.00 another one people are bidding on that already up to 455.00 with 5 day left it will probably hit 800-1000.00. I will check ou the AudioControl, someone brought up using the RF 3sixty.2 also, I can get a deal on one of those. new.

Lots of people run the mid/highs with the passive crossover and the midbass fully active thats why I asked. I believe to do a FULLY active setup you would need a DQXS + 2XS or 6XS + 2XS... Or take advantage of some of the processing on your decks.

Tweeter - 2.5-3khz ^

Mid - 300hz ^

Mid Bass 100hz ^

Sub Bass 100hz \/

You can tweak your crossover points from there. The DQXS are all 24db slopes.

I hear the 360.2 is pretty nice too.

req-I do not want to run the Alpine set-up, everyone else is doing it, want to try something different than every other system I see. I know it works great but I am so tired of seeing them everywhere already. Same reason I chose to find an older HU that is awsome the 8455.IMO

up to you buddy.

for me, its about practicality. sure id like to be origional. my first plan was to use rackmount EQ\Xover. i had a crossfire 3.24 and i have a pair of 31 mono 1\3 eq's.

but the crossover was a dud when i got it. so i have to go a different route.

i just want to be able to tinker with the stereo from the front seat. and i have a double din hole to fill.

up to you man, enjoy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
