This is a 15" D2 AV15 from AE based out of Green Bay. All parts are tooled in the US and assembled in Green Bay, WI.

My initial reaction to seeing this sub was, oh ok a SQ sub rated for 1000wrms, should sound nice but get warm fast and not handle the power I plan to really throw at it. Specially all on a little 2.5 with small windings, boy was I wrong. John personally came with a few of the toys and more or less let me just beat on them. We did several tests and put about 4 hours of abuse on the sub.

Never reached failure point, the only thing I could note is that the sub did smell of coil glue at 75hz with an estimate of 1500wrms to it. Ironically almost any sub I test will get a little stinky when trying to hit that tone with 150% of its rated power.

Photobucket is being extra slow tonight but I will post them as they load, heres the first one, just a teaser

We ran a 50sec tone that every second went up 1hz starting at 70hz and ending at 75hz. Obviously cause my car peaks in the high 30s the numbers were not going to be as high but man that thing still gets loud. I got some pictures and i think a video of it as well, uploading it all right now. I want to say it was mid 130s at 70hz. For a box that peaks at 37hz though thats impressive imo.

Someone was curious if they could handle the power for more then just a burp, even though I didnt really do burps, heres a 30 second bassrace session average. John is kind of new to bassrace so we just had him turn it up a bit, didnt actually go for a 39.9 or anything like that but you get the idea.

So how did it sound musically? This may sound a bit stupid but aside from chasing DB's what did you think of it in terms of sound quality?
The AV is incredibly accurate. As much hating as I do on the AV's, and as much as I feel like John dicked me over after my ordeal with mine, it's one of the most (if not the most) transient, accurate subs I've ever heard.
