About wiring mono amp

I know a mono amp is bridged internally but what effect would there be if you wired the sub positive on one channel to the negative on the other channel like on a 2 channel amp? Thats the way the shop had my mono wired and I was womdering if I would get more power if I just used one channel since it's already bridged internally.
