First off you are over-paying for all of that equipment. GO to ebay and get it cheaper because if the total is like $700 at sonic electronics....I bet you will save 100-150 from ebay.

Other than that I think your type r is okay. The amp is a good choice as well. I recommend getting a front stage Component set. I got CDT CL-61a's for $100 shipped from woofersetc.com. You buy the CL-60's and they upgrade for free. Then get a cheap amp to power them 110rms x2 channels at 4 ohm for about $50-70 and it will sound much better.

eBay has saved me a ton of cash over buying from other sources.

My headunit and subwoofer were bought BNIB @ full retail because I wanted the warranties.

My monoblock was bought from excelerater here in the Classifieds as I wanted one from a known source if I was going to unass that kinda coin for an amp (on my budget a $300+ expenditure on an amp is big money //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif)

Everything else in my setup - 4ch amp, 2 sets of components, wiring, etc etc etc was sourced from eBay.

Good deals can be had there if you shop wisely.

Seems like everyone new goes for that cookie cutter type r. I would look into getting a better sub. They are decent subs but you can do alot better!

For the potential output they can provide, the ability to take gobs of power above and beyond the RMS input rating, and still retain more than reasonable SQ while playing wide open the Alpine Type R is a more than capable driver.

Factor in the availability to acquire all of the above-mentioned attributes for around $100 and it becomes a pretty tough to beat deal no matter how cliche their use may have become...
