About to buy a used car

So im about to buy this 1986 Camaro z28 and the guy mentioned before that he had all the receipts from everything like he kept them all which is good but when I asked him for the carfax he didnt really know what that was so should I tell him and make him buy the carfax or are the receipts good enough? Also when I goto see the car is there anything I should ask or keep my eyes peeled for? I know that im supposed to ask about the oil in person because if he answers right away then obviously it was taken care of very well but what else should I ask? Thanks!

Look through the windshield on top of the dash on the drivers side and write down the VIN #, then go to the Carfax website and pay the money to check it out for yourself.

Dont take a seller's word, be sure.

Imho, you have no business looking at this car if you know nothing about them, or anything auto related for that matter. Go look at used car's on a dealer lot or something. They'll be less likely to completely f you over like it seem's this guy is.

I mean when it comes to cars I don't know alot but thats kinda why I joined? That's kinda why alot of people join is it not? Yeah, you're going to get yourself in trouble. Either take someone who knows about this kind of stuff with you or go to a dealership.
