T-Pain's style was different... then the rest of the mainstream started doing the same shit, which made his style less unique and more played out. Don't get me started with computerized vocal modulation.I love how people criticize rappers for making club songs lol. They make these songs for parties, clubs, and radio. That is the point of these songs to get played at parties, clubs, and to get radio spins. Also to be ringtones and singles. It's a way of making money for rappers duh. They don't make entire cd's filled with party songs but some mainstream songs are needed to get your records in clubs and on the radio. Asher Roth did the perfect thing in releasing "I love college" because that song gets played at a lot of parties and gets radio play and is very easy to sing to because of the catchy hook. And to all the people that say T-Pain is bad for hip hop I disagree. Because when he came out he added a different element to hip hop. His style of music is different which imo is a good thing. The whole auto-tune and vocoder thing is extremely played out now because people a) don't use it correctly b) too many people use it c) It has turned into a fad d) people sound better without it. I'm not going to get into the whole Lil Wayne debate because people either like him or hate him and they won't change opinions. My 2 cents.
Agreed. People act like rappers go out and steal other people's songs. First off it's the producer/beat makers who sample the old songs. And it's not like the samples are free. If a rapper uses a beat containing a sample they have to get the song cleared. How can you hate on new rappers for sampling other songs lol? How do you think rap started? Some of you need to get some hip hop knowledge. Two turntables, a rapper and a dj.This is pretty much the last place I'll ask for music opinions, since its either black or white here(one or the other NOT race). I like the song, but people have to realize that not all rap has to be though provoking..................and it doesn't have to be kindergarten simple either. To the person ragging on Slim Thug, you do know that they had to likely PAY to get that flock of seagulls sample in the first place, so he is by no means "ripping" them off. People here only listen to rap for bass anyway.
Yeah they make a song for the club and another 11 songs to fill up the 600mb on a cd. The problem with ultr-poppy club music is that eventually it becomes a detriment to the music. The people who like the poppy aspect will move on and the true fans will want to have nothing to do with it. A quick grab at money is not always a smart way to go.They don't make entire cd's filled with party songs but some mainstream songs are needed to get your records in clubs and on the radio.
I went to a commuter school. It was nothing like that. You could hear a pin drop in our dorms come Friday afternoon.i think its a joke also.
And who says you have to be in college to do this stuff? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
