? about big 3

i'm doing the big 3 tonight when i install the new 200amp alt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif , anyways, i was wondering if i can use different gauge wires on diff parts, i only have a little bit of 0 gauge lying around, can i do 0 gauge from the alt to the batt, and run the grounds in 4 gauge???

do the grounds in 0, and do the + in 4... maybe go to the local hardware store and see if you can get 1\0? or 2awg?

200 amps is a hell of alot, and you will still get voltage drops if your wire cant take that.

i dont think id use anything smaller than 2 guage for 200 amps tbh - 150 is as high as i would go for 4awg - my car is only taking ~120 from my alt, so i dont have to worry. i could go with 2awg though.

might as well just hold off on half of the big3 until you get more 1\0... its not fun to take it all out and waste wire and crimps just to upgrade again.

go find some bigger wire and do it all the same *at lease 2awg IMO.

You could but the omtimal thing to do would be to go get some more 1/0 guage. Why do a half ars job.

i might possibly have enough 0 gauge.....i'm not sure, i'll try and make it fit, the other problem is finding ring terminals, i went to the local shop and he ordered 3 pairs.....2 were for me, if i do all 0 guage i'll need 2 more pairs.....i'll have to do some looking tonight
