About $300 to spend on a front stage...

What are my options? I just want something with a strong midbass as I listen to a lot of rock, and I like my tweeters nice and mellow. For my back 6x9s I plan on just putting in some nice coaxials or something, maybe some cheap mids.

My wife ordered these for me for Christmas from Woofers.They were out of stock at the time so they gave me a free upgrade to the ES-620's with the black cones.I haven't had time to put them in my truck yet but I have them in a set of two way cabinets that I use to test out new comps.They are running off of a 100 wpc Vector Research home receiver in my garage to break in untill they go in my truck.They have excellent sound.Some of the best midrange I have heard(I have M B Quart QSD 216's in my truck now with 150 wpc).They are excellent for voice and most instruments.But notice I said midrange not midbass.They would be great with a sub and deadened doors would probably add to the midbass but for real low midbass you would want a dedicated midbass driver or sub.These are as good as comps that cost twice as much or more.A great deal for $300.00.I am wanting to by another set to have for that price.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i have heard those ES series spakers and they are breath takingly nice. the midrange is very full and detailed, the mdbass is outstanding and the tweeters are silk dome so they are smooth. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif i would go for it

Go with MB Quart if $300 is your price range and you are looking for a great front stage component set-up.

I've heard that the HD series from CDT produces the best midbass, can anyone attest to that? Or are the ES comps going to be my best bet? And I think I'm going to go with something CDT, as my local shop carries them and I can get a deal on them. Also, what amp(s) would you guys recommend for those speakers?

Forgot to mention, when you said you like your tweeters nice & mellow, there is a tweeter attenuator switch so you can set them where you like them. Also, the woofer magnet is neodynium. Mounting depth, and size is reduced while keeping the bass respose at an excellent level.

lol well if you went by that my soundstreams have tweeter and woofer attenuators. heh but they don't make these comp sets any more so not really feasable to suggest them.

The Pioneer's are good speakers but can not in anyway be compared to the Eurosport comps as far as sound quality.

Forget the CDT ES series unless its the ES-06, ES-06+.. heh.. Get a set with the M6 or put it together yourself and pick out a tweeter and crossover.

Something like an M6 set, DRT-25 tweets, and a 480/560 crossover.
