Able Planet True Fidelity Headphones Blown?

These headphones have about 100 hours on them, mostly from my ipod. I've had no problem with them until I put them into my laptop and put them on full volume. Then after awhile, I'd say an hour broken up over time the left headphone speaker began sounding fuzzy/static at bass freq.

I'm guessing the laptop was clipping/too loud? It seemed to be the same volume I listen to on my ipod. Wondering what you think. Thanks.
