How much room do you need between the outer edge if the sub and the edge of the box? I bought some mdf and had home depot cut it and its all way off so now I only have about a half an inch of room.

As long as the sub fits in the box, how close it is to the edge doesn't matter. Now if you have a hole cut and there's only like .25" of wood between the sub and the piece it's laying on, then ya, I would reconsider it, especially with a sub that heavy.

Alright thank you, I was worried I would have to make a whole new box, but I think I can make it work.
