I don't mean to hijack the thread, but this seems like a good time to ask.
What will be better in terms of overall SQ and SPL coming from a single 12" Kicker CVR running at 500 watts?

1) single 12" Type R with 900 watts?

2) dual 12" AA Assassins's with 400 watts each?

assuming both setups ported or both sealed

assassin's will sound better

type r will have a much smaller box

loudness will probably be install dependant

one type r ported could be louder than 2 assassin's sealed (similar box sizes).

type r's will allow for easy upgrade (get another)

Thats $90 each shipped, **** good deal (especially from crutchfield, great company).

I had two kappa 12's in a sealed box last year, I loved the way they sounded. Very accurate and got pretty low, the only thing I could complain about is that beyond around 60hz, they decline pretty quick.

i have an assassin in 1 cf to 40 and it sounds like ass. PRobably the box though. If you can bump your price up a little and get an Rl-i i think it would be a little better

8", 10", 12"

that is wayyy too small for a 12", and tuned to high for all except the 8"

Cosign. Even for the 8's try a lower tuning. I didnt like mine @ 40Hz near as much as I do @ 35

One more vote for the Assassins. Just put 2 8's in a 1.2^3 box tuned to 40Hz and throwing 800+ watts to them. These little subs sound very good and will hit pretty hard when you lean on them.
