Hi guys I'm new here to the forum and figured I'd ask for some help about my 2003 Nissan Altima.

I really would like to upgrade its stock audio package to pretty much be louder and hit harder at high volumes. I'm not looking to kill at car shows or anything but would love to have something that is more palatable at higher volumes than the stock system. My budget is about 1000 hard earned dollars and am hoping somebody could help me pick some stuff out. I know you probably get this thousands of times, but I would sincerely appreciate it. I plan on doing the install with my friend to take it as a learning experience.

Do you plan on replacing the head unit and everything?

@Micah: That is definitely planned considering how it has very little control over the audio besides volume and bass, mid, high from -5 to +5
