I have a cadence component set that the tweeters recently blew. Im looking to either replace my whole frontstage or simple replace the tweeters. How do the setups with two different size speakers, not coaxials, and a tweeter work? Is it through a single crossover? For example if i wanted to use a 6.5 in speaker a Smaller speaker ((maybe 4in?need help here too)) and a tweeter how would i go about setting this up? If this helps it is in a Reg cab silverado:confused:

so i have to buy all of the speakers as set? or could i go to somewhere like madi sound and piece together a setup

You could indeed go to madisound, and piece stuff together.. but you'd have to get a crossover built for those exact speakers. It would probably be easier, and cheaper to just get a 3 way component set (with crossovers included)

don't know. the problem with putting togeather a 3-way from scratch is getting the x-over frequincy to match what the driver is made for. it's possable with some looking round u can pull it off.

o ok thanks for the fast replies. So the crossovers i have now a specifically for the cadence components? And does it matter what 1 inch tweeters i get to replace mine?
Partially yes, i wouldn't throw a random tweeter on the crossover you already have, it may work, it may have the wrong x-over points and ruin the speakers.
