A question for the evolutionists

It really does. Death is a wierd thing to think about.
Like, when you go to sleep. Unless your dreaming. There is nothing, everything is blank, forever.

You know what I mean? It trips me out when you go to sleep. Its the closest way to experience death without actually dying. You wake up and its been several hours. But you had no sense of time or anything while you were asleep. There just isnt anything.
i never thought of it this way, but you are right. Not having any sense of time or anything is the weird part.

Here, read this quote

"Cancer Cells are the only cells in our bodies that don't die, cancer is a vacation from death, and death is the ticket to life"

Deepak Chopra

Well this is kind of wrong. When you sleep, you are constantly dreaming. Always. It's just that the only dreams you remember occur during REM sleep. Dreams (just like thoughts) are essentially chemical reactions in the brain. They are your subconscious (sp?) sorting out all your conscious thoughts. The reason we sleep is to replenish the chemicals that get used up by thinking all day. that is why you wake up without a sense of time, but your brain never actually shuts down like it does when you die.

I was listening to the radio the day before yesterday, and they were saying there were cases of near death experiences in people who had no brain activity at the time. I tried to find something to back that up but can't seem to, did anyone else hear anything about this?

it is still the closest we will get to death

I'm really starting to doubt the existence of god right now, i am losing my faith
Good. Faith is the most idiotic thing there is. I am not saying that a god does not exist. It is impossible to prove or disprove the existence of a higher being. But nobody should accept a god's existence without evidence. I have had experiences in my life that make me believe that something is out there. But to accept a god or a religion without question, ie having faith, is asinine. The whole concept of faith was invented so that religions could control people without having to deal with their questions, either because those questions were unanswerable or because they pointed out discrepencies within religious doctrine. They couldn't have the people they were looking to control and oppress walking around with the knowledge that the church was just a bunch of ordinary men like everyone else.

Believe in what you can see, in what you can prove. And don't discount any possibility without that same amount of proof.
