a yes what would be a good ported box design for 4 kicker L7 12s would it be better to do 2 seperate chambers or do a common box with 1 port?

Just make the box kicker recommends. You can call them and they'll help you with the box. I would do 2 chambers. The L7 manual is all you really need to make the box. Kicker recommends goods boxes in the manuals, so there's no need to make it bigger or smaller than what they say.
