A-pillar wind noise

Ive always thought of deadening as a "total effect" thing.....no small area will give breathtaking results, but a bunch of small areas will add up to an improvement...If you have the deadener, and can get it off your car, then do it.

It is between your door and your winshield. B-pillars are where your seat belts are hanging from normally. I don't imagine A-pillar deadening would be too noticeable by itself, but i guess it goes back the "total effect" like zach. said.

Point well taken, but has anyone on this board done work deadening and insulating this particular area?

i have always noticed air noise in this area and thought about those odd plastic sheilds you see on some cars? to reduce....modify air flow?

Those odd plastic shields are called by one manufacturer "autoventshades." I bought some -- and not with the intention of killing wind noise, mind you. They really knocked out a good deal of noise! I was both surprised and amazed as, again, I didn't buy them with this intention. And so, after realizing this, I thought maybe more noise could be killed directly at the A-pillar. You could say the idea was inspired by the ventshades.
