A pair of jl 12w3v3 vs. a single jl 13w6v2

which setup would be best for sq....

running off a jl 500/1

sealed.

im currently running the pair of w3's...just looking for improvement....if possible

13w6v2 without a doubt would have better sq then the w3's... probably won't get as loud though.

i bet that 13w6v2 would be just as loud in a ported box as the 2 w3's sealed with the power that you have now.

imo the w6v2 line are among the best sq drivers out.

Don't be afraid to throw the w6 in a ported box if you ever decide to get one... It still sounds REALLY good in a ported box.

i'm really not worried about how loud it could get....my goal is to get the best sq...so with that said ....sealed would still be the way to go would it not ?

take a look at some of the finest home audio speakers, 99% of them are ported.

you can have a very flat responce with a ported box(usually by tuning very low)and have the added output as a bonus.

Yes, ideally you would want sealed, but even ported the w6v2 has incredible SQ, just a very slight difference between ported and sealed SQ wise IMO....

i had two w6's i love them u should get one i had it in a sealed box but i bet they would sound even better in a ported box
