A lil more 880 gayness!!!

It seems as though latley people who are jumping on this 880 boner are getting screwed. Whether it be ground loops or blown micro-fuses. Well ive never heard of this one so I thought I'd share. It all started last thursday when I ordered the 880 through onlinecarstereo.com, I was thrilled but had some days to wait for it to come in. Finally it gets here today so I race home from work to throw it in. Being as I have been running a stock unit for the past 6 months(lame). Ne way I open the box and am amazed at how clean and subtle it is, but i know the punch it packs with features. So i proceed to take the whole box to my car and tear my dash apart. Only to realize that there is no wire harness in the box or the rca plug. So basically i have a $325 paperweight. I call ocs.com and they tell me that there is no more in stock so they have to order it from pioneer to them. Then send it to me.(has got to take about 2 weeks) I think that this is retarted and f@ck onlinecarstereo.com. Its sad that i call pioneer directly and even though OCS.COM isnt a authorized dealer they said fax my invoice and parts missing and model number and they will talk to the supervisor about getting me the parts fast.

So you're bashing Pioneer for something that probably happened out of their hands, and caused by the un-authorized dealer you bought it from?

And theres no such thing as a micro-fuse ... its a bad ground trace on the PCB.

I agree that it does have some minor problems.

But all of them can be fixed with a good install. I haven't come across anything yet that I couldn't fix.

Just use the search button if you have any problems with yours and you will get all the answers you need

Sorry for your misfortune. I must be really lucky because I just put my 880 in last friday and grounded it to the factory harness ground. No noise at all! I just put in CDT ES-02's and HD-2's in an active setup and I love it!

DEH-P880PRS = God's greatest gift to mankind (imho)

I hope you get your harness and rca adapter soon.

I wasnt blaming pioneer i personally love pioneer for all their contributions to the car audio industry and years of amazing headunits. I just am really annoyed in general. i guess thats what u get for not buying from an authorized dealer. Although I did buy from ocs.com so that I would have the warranty, but then again i guess having the warranty is whats even letting me get the parts for free.

ocs.com is famous for swapping serial numbers. i heard about them cutting baskets or some shit to replace serial numbers

Did the box still have the factory seals? If so, it's Pioneer's goof. They're pretty good about making things right.

Did Pioneer by chance ask you for the serial # of the unit? You have no idea as to whether or not you bought a "A" stock unit or a "B" stock unit. I would have sent the thing right back to OPS, told them to pound sand and purchased it from a authorized dealer.

Received mines quick from OCS. Even purchased the extended warranty. At first I had alt whine, but I re-grounded the stock ground to the chassis. Now it went away and is working great.
